New Delhi [India], April 1 (ANI): BJP MP Manoj Tiwari on Monday took a dig at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal after he was sent to judicial custody till April 15 in the excise policy case and said if the AAP leader had a habit of “honesty” he would not have gone to Tihar Jail.
“Today, there is a line running through the minds of everyone in the streets of Delhi that ‘”Imandari ki jo hoti adat tumhari (Arvind Kejriwal) toh Tihar tak nahi jati ye Yatra tumhari (If honesty was your habit, then your journey would not have gone to Tihar jail),” Manoj Tiwari said.
He said Kejriwal has been sent to judicial custody till April 15 by the court, not by the BJP.
He attacked Kejriwal and AAP government.
“I often visit prisoners in jail and I am considering visiting Tihar Jail once. I might even take motivational speakers along to awaken their inner conscience…those who have looted Delhi, halted development, stopped pension for the elderly, left drains broken, and are responsible for the delay in issuing ration cards. Perhaps after this, the funds meant for them will be released, and it might reveal where these people have misused money, I might succeed in bringing this to light,” Tiwari said.
“Today, Arvind Kejriwal has been sent to Tihar Jail for 15 days of judicial custody where he will be with his three associates already in jail for the next 15 days. They will be questioned. But there are some very interesting things that Delhi should know. When the investigating agencies asked Arvind Kejriwal about his mobile phone, he said he couldn’t remember. My Delhi brothers and sisters, can anyone forget where they have placed their own mobile phone? And regarding the phone he provided, he said he couldn’t remember its password. This non-cooperation with the investigation agencies was also discussed in court today. It was discussed in court that he is obstructing the investigation and misleading the entire investigation team. The people of Delhi should know about Arvind Kejriwal’s behaviour,” he added.
Kejriwal was sent to judicial custody till April 15 after he was produced before Special Judge Kaveri Baweja at Rouse Avenue Court on Monday.
Kejriwal was produced before the court at the end of his remand period in the Delhi Excise policy money laundering case.
Manish Sisodia, who was the then Delhi Deputy Chief Minister, was arrested by the CBI on February 26 following several rounds of questioning. On October 5, the ED arrested Sanjay Singh, who is a Rajya Sabha member.
Kejriwal was arrested on March 21 by the Enforcement Directorate in relation to the excise policy case. (ANI)
